- MEL and EL are Melanie Kinard and Ellie Dvorkin - real life best friends who have known each other since they were 12 years old. Described as "a musical Laverne and Shirley meets Sex and the City" and a "female Flight of the Conchords", MEL and EL are a riotously funny duo who have quickly become a cult phenomenon.
